It was one exquisite preview that rightfully placed it in a league of its own.
While one usually expects nothing short of exceptional from a brand like Rockwell Land, that afternoon fete to welcome guests in the newly opened Aruga Pavilion in Cebu easily took everyone’s breath away.
Picture this: you step inside this pavilion and you’ll find a one-bedroom model unit of the Aruga Resort and Residences-Mactan that is, as expected, stylish, sophisticated and tastefully done, easily swaying one to get into that relaxing tropical vibe with its warm wood furnishings, tiled flooring with accent mosaics, a soothing palette of colors of the sea, and local rattan furniture balanced with more modern pieces.
But Mactan’s sunny shores, its glistening blue water and gentle waves, as well as the stunning panoramic vistas of the bright sky and the bay added that perfect touch of rustic to this sophisticated model home.
If you step out to breathe some fresh air, you’ll find yourself at the outdoor lounge of the Aruga Pavilion, overlooking a wide expanse of the beach and the sea with its varying shades of blue. And if you venture a little further down, you’ll be enjoying the natural fine white sand of the 270-meter wide beachfront, offering a picturesque yet serene ambience that had put guests at ease as they enjoyed an afternoon of refreshments, canapes and great company amid a lush landscape.
Rockwell Land president Nestor Padilla called it as their “little piece of paradise.” And he has every right to call it so.
Impressive glimpse
It’s clear that everyone who gathered that Saturday afternoon had an impressive glimpse of the sophisticated yet refreshingly laidback lifestyle you can have at Aruga Resort and Residences-Mactan, a private escape turned into a luxurious piece of real estate in Cebu. Rockwell Land brings to this famed island its same signature lifestyle, as seen in its upscale developments in Metro Manila, but within a more easygoing, unhurried pace and a quaint setting.
To think that it will take four more years before you get to see the towers welcoming its first batch of residents and hotel guests, and yet the Aruga Pavilion has essentially captured that distinct lifestyle for the well-heeled market and for which Rockwell has long been known for. A taste of the fine life that awaits at the Aruga Resort and Residences-Mactan was more than enough to lure one to this exclusive paradise in Cebu.
So it comes as no surprise that this 5-hectare enclave, located along the leisure strip of Punta Engaño, has already sold 54 percent of the 276 units at the first residential tower of Aruga Resort and Residences-Mactan. This, despite a price tag of P311,000 per sqm on the average, which would be comparable to the prices of upscale condominium units in the Makati central business district and Bonifacio Global City.
Units with a beachfront view command the highest price in Mactan at an average of P357,000 per sqm. Rockwell Land offers here one- to four-bedroom units with sizes ranging from 67 to 292 sqm.
A total three high rise towers will be put up, while beachfront villas will be offered as well. Apart from these, Aruga will put up a hotel where guests can expect top notch facilities for wellness and leisure, such as a private gym, chapel, swimming pool and an expansive function room perfect for celebrations.
Aruga Resort and Residences-Mactan, whose units are targeted for turnover by 2023, is Rockwell Land’s first residential-resort development. It combines beautiful hotel and residential spaces that are surrounded by amazing panoramic views of the Magellan Bay and Hilutungan Channel, all well suited for the discerning few.
This, however, is the upscale developer’s second project in Cebu, the first being the four-tower 32 Sanson, which enjoyed warm reception and brisk sales.
Indeed, there is more to Mactan than a sweet travel escape, with its gorgeous beaches and lush tropic scenery. While this destination has offered an idyllic respite for countless travelers, this famed island in Cebu is proving to be a premium catch for those wanting to invest in valuable property—especially with Rockwell Land now on board, and clearly, in a league of its own.
