Still dynamic and evolving after more than two decades, Rockwell Center Makati remains a centerpiece of the kind of glittering equity that Rockwell Land puts on the table, and of their distinct approach to property development. It’s now hard to believe it all started in 1995, when the West Block was first introduced. The Power Plant Mall soon followed, and then expanded into a thriving community with more residential spaces, talked-about lifestyle hubs, and premium work spaces and office towers, transforming the Makati skyline.
Rockwell Center Makati has evolved from within, and it has expanded strategically. But the prevailing constant throughout its 26 years, is how the strong sense of community has remained intact. My middle son and his cousin used to live in One Rockwell until recently, and he’d always comment about how a simple shopping run to The Marketplace at Power Plant Mall would entail running into three to four separate groups of friends, extending said run to hours.
Whether for the young or the more mature, Rockwell Center Makati has become such a destination, a place where one hangs out or chills and where it’ll be second nature to end up seeing regular friends, acquaintances, or bump into people you haven’t seen in years. It’s the ultimate meeting place, this Rockwell Land flagship development that is truly unparalleled and like no other.
For shopping, dining, or for recreation, exciting plans are still in store at Rockwell Center Makati. Not one to rest on their laurels, Rockwell Land has a bevy of projects in the pipeline. There’s the completion of The Proscenium Residences, the upcoming workspaces at 1 Proscenium and the luxurious The Balmori Suites; and we can’t forget the Aruga Apartments that had been such a blessing over the last two years of pandemic.
At the Proscenium, master-planned by Carlos Ott, there are currently exclusive move-in offers for homeowners who may want to move in right away. Its fifth and final tower has begun turning over last year, and continues to welcome new residents to the enclave.
Also within the Proscenium compound is 1 Proscenium, a new 21-storey office tower. Just like 8 Rockwell, it will offer the signature Rockwell Workspaces customer experience. It’s security and safety of the highest order, as those with offices at 8 Rockwell can attest to. Location-wise, it’s near the Makati CBD, but tucked away in its own more tranquil setting.
The Balmori Suites, in the heart of Rockwell Center, is the latest gem. It’s an exclusive enclave above Power Plant Mall with less than 60 units. The two bedroom units are an unbelievable 144 square meters, the three bedrooms are 232 to 288 square meters. With floor to ceiling glass windows, a pool deck and gym on the highest floor, The Balmori Suites will be that envied address of the near future where expansive space and size are still possible.
Over at Aruga Apartments, we’re talking of quarantine and/or leisure stays at well appointed suites as a DOT-accredited multi-use facility. One feels safe and secure with the stringent sanitary measures and safety protocols, complemented by distinct personal service. Aruga Apartments is noted for their suites and rooms of Asian Contemporary style, its proximity to Power Plant, well-equipped kitchen, and the distinct unparalleled Rockwell service it provides. Aruga Apartments likewise redesigned their business model to be more accommodating for both guests and investors, and 5 percent yield for unit owners in 2021.
I’ll confess I’ve made Rockwell Center Makati one of my favorite haunts since its inception. And throughout its 25-plus years, it’s been like that old friend you never get tired of seeing, whose every visit you look forward to. How it manages to achieve that is testament to how it constantly changes while remaining the same.
